Dr. Yoni was born and raised here in Tacoma, Washington and currently lives in Seward Park. Among his contributions to our community is his membership in The UW chapter of the American Student Dental Association. As part of his service, Dr. Yoni was a voting member at the Washington State Dental Association House of Delegates for 3 years and lobbied for increased government funded dental benefits both in our state capital and Washington D.C.
Dr. Yoni’s most meaningful experience in dentistry has been his work with pediatric patients. His pediatric rotations in the UW Center for Pediatric Dentistry gave him the priceless opportunity to make kids smile every day, and at Green Leaf Dental that’s exactly what Dr. Yoni continues to do. When you bring your children to Green Leaf Dental, Dr. Yoni will make their appointments fun and informative, and he’ll help set them up for a lifetime of positive dental health. Dr. Yoni is also involved with Friendship Circle, a local nonprofit that provides developmentally disabled youth and their families with therapeutic and social support.
Dr. Bean is a native Washingtonian who received his dental degree from the University of Washington. He is passionate about dentistry and is very involved in the dental health community. Dr. Bean is an active Diplomat with the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists, a member of several professional organizations in King and Pierce Counties, and is an associate faculty member at the University of Washington Dental School where he teaches sedation and airway management to graduate students. Dr. Bean also volunteers his time and resources to The Friendship Circle of Washington, a nonprofit that provides support to special needs youth and their families.
Throughout his career, Dr. Bean has provided a safe, trouble-free anesthesia experience for over four thousand patients, including adults and children. On top of his extensive experience as an anesthesiologist and a dentist, Dr. Bean’s outgoing, personable demeanor is what sets him apart. He can make any patient feel at ease and relaxed, and an appointment with Dr. Bean feels more like a visit with an old friend.
Dr. Lena M. Arvidson earned her dental degree from Marquette University School of Dentistry in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1995. Following graduation, she entered into a 1-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) Residency with the US Air Force. Upon completion of the AEGD residency, she then practiced as a general dentist in Germany for four years before entering into the Periodontics Residency Program at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Following graduation in 2003, with a specialty certificate in Periodontics and a Master of Science degree in Periodontics from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, she served as the Department Head in Periodontics in Italy and Alaska before joining the faculty at the Air Force’s 2-year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD-2) Residency Program at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. As the Director of Periodontics, she instructed 13 AEGD-2 residents in all aspects of periodontal treatment. In addition to her duties as the Director of Periodontics she served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor for the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio overseeing the clinical training of 30 rotating dental hygiene students a year and as an Associate Professor of Periodontics for the F. Edward Hébert School of Medicine of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. After 12 years as an educator in the Air Force, Dr. Arvidson retired as a Colonel in October 2017 completing 30 years of military service to both the Navy and Air Force.
Dr. Arvidson has been married to her husband Mark since 1990 and are the proud parents of two boys, Leif and Erik. Dr. Arvidson enjoys spending time with family, cycling, Nordic skiing, cooking, adventure motorcycling, weaving, and traveling.
Dr. Brittany Dean is our pediatric dentist! She received her dental degree from the University of Washington in 2012. Before deciding to specialize, she spent several years practicing general dentistry in a community health center and also worked as affiliate faculty at the University of Washington and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. These experiences convinced her of the importance of dental disease prevention, starting in childhood. Two additional years of full-time training at the UW and Seattle Children's hospital equipped her with a master's degree in pediatric dentistry. That means she has in-depth knowledge of child growth and development, behavior management, and diseases specific to children. As a pediatric dentist, she loves getting to know babies, toddlers, teens and their parents and she takes pride in finding age-appropriate approaches for each family's dental needs.
In addition to her local work, Dr. Brittany also treats children at the Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium in Juneau and Sitka.
She is active in dental advocacy organizations at the local, state and national levels. She is especially proud to be dental co-director for the annual Seattle/King County Clinic, which provides four days of free care annually to hundreds of adults in need.
Dr. Yoni and Dr. Brittany have been close friends since high school. Both Dr. Bean and Dr. Yoni have recognized Dr. Brittany as a like-minded, compassionate and ethical provider who has an impressive history of leadership and dedication to public service and community-focused care. Dr. Brittany lives with her ridiculously smart and handsome husband, Dr. David Dean (who practices and teaches oral medicine at UW School of Dentistry and at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance) and with their not-so-smart, but adorable, pitbull-mix Calvin.
